Working within an engineering team procuring, planning, designing, installing and maintaining mainly a Cisco router/switch/firewall estate with F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM load balancers.Keeping the network secure is also a major part of my role utilising tools such as Cisco ASA firewall, Cisco Firepower Management Centre (FMC), Cisco ISE and Solarwinds network management platform.My main focus outwith keeping a highly available fault-tolerant network is to work on projects and make sure that they are delivered on time and to specification utilising products such as Cisco ASA 5500x next gen firewalls, F5 BIG-IP LTM and DNS, Cisco ISE, Cisco FirePower and Cisco Wireless Lan Controllers for deploying autonomous wireless networks.Our estate encompasses two co-located data centres which provides a HA environment to over 150 remote sites using data centre core switches.

Manage radio/wireless faults within a core capacity on the next generation network providing connectivity for the flagship project named Pathfinder in which we provide critical network connectivity between the Highlands and Islands throughout northern and southern Scotland.
