I am an Environmental Scientist and the United Nations Global Compact Coordinator for Umgeni Water, where I play a crucial role of integrating sustainability principles into our core business management. My extensive experience involves various aspects, such as developing and reviewing sustainability policies, strategies, goals, and plans for the organization. I am also responsible for coordinating the implementation of sustainability improvement projects and programs and managing sustainability systems, processes, and performance. Additionally, I oversee sustainability reporting and communication efforts, ensuring that our stakeholders are well-informed about our sustainability initiatives. Furthermore, I lead Umgeni Water's Energy and Reducing Emissions Task Team, which focuses on mitigating energy-related risks and implementing projects aimed at reducing emissions. By spearheading this team, I ensure that Umgeni Water is proactive in building resilience to energy challenges and actively working towards achieving our emission reduction targets.
