• Work in a small team of four therefore I have opportunities to get involved in and lead on a diverse range of tasks including taking the Brentwood Local Plan through examination to adoption, preparing the Local Plan review, preparing CIL, and processing representations to consultations• Prepare examination hearing statements, provide verbal responses to the Inspectors at the Local Plan Examination in Public, prepare policies main modifications• Draft the Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document, by working closely with planning officers, viability and legal consultants, key stakeholders and other Council departments. This document provides guidance for developers and planners on contribution requirements of the Local Plan policies, the type of legal agreements that the Council would use, apportionment methodology and considerations in drafting Section 106 agreements• Create the Council’s Open Space Calculator, which is a tool designed to calculate open space required on-site and commuted sums and tests whether a proposal is policy compliant in different scenarios. It assists developers and DM officers to understand policy requirements in planning and in making informed decisions• Lead on drafting and updating the Infrastructure Delivery Plan, a live document which identifies infrastructure requirements, phasing and funding mechanisms to support planned development • Liaise with highways authorities, Lower Thames Crossing and key stakeholders to establish a way forward in planning for and delivering strategic transport infrastructure as site allocations come forward• Work alongside DM case officers to provide inputs to planning applications consideration

• Lead on drafting planning policies in the Local Plan in relation to green and blue infrastructure, retail and leisure, employment land, sustainable construction and climate change, and design and heritage• Work closely with the Principle Urban Designer, Members Working Group and appointed consultants to develop the Brentwood Town Centre Design Plan and lead on the Design Guide SPD through all stages, from preliminary studies, design and consultation to adoption• Assist the project team to prepare bidding document for Homes England’s Housing Infrastructure Funding for Dunton Hills Garden Village, a new urban settlement of circa 4,000 dwellings; work with the project team, design panel, land promoter and statutory bodies to conduct research and develop the development framework brief• Participate in joint-working internally and externally on planning issues under the Duty to Cooperate; advise and represent the Council within sub-regional strategic planning contexts• Provide planning advice to the Council’s joint venture team as part of pre-application processes and the Council’s aims for commercial growth
