Responsible for New Equipment Training of the AN/TSR-8 (GBS) and the AN/TSQ-246 (Transportable Satellite Broadcast Manager) system to United States Service Members. This includes, initial inventory, final inventory, setup, IAVA and software upgrades, operational checks of the KG-250 encryption device, fault verification and correction. Coordinates with unit command for POC’s, equipment tracking and movement, number of systems, training/fielding sites, and dates of missions. Works as a liaison between unit PBO’s/S-6 and the Program office for sign over of new equipment through PBUSE. Assists units with points of contact for procedures covering equipment shortages or replacement of unserviceable items. Responsible for conducting a 40 hour GBS operator course with certification for 20-40 students, and a 160 hour course for 1-5 TSBM team members. These courses include podium, OJT training, and an extensive troubleshooting objective. Utilized the WISE portal for student rosters, grading, and certification. Ensured daily summaries were submitted to the GBS team and Program office. Serves as a GBS FSR for unit integration missions, and system administrator for the TSBM. During integration FSR is responsible for OJT training/refresh, assisting unit S-6/S-2’s with Mission requests, Satellite Acquisition Requests, product guides, system integrity, troubleshooting, and procedures for RESET (if necessary). Familiar with CF-73H, CF31's, CF-74K, Dell 6330, 6440 Laptops, KG-250/175 encryption devices, managed and unmanaged switches, Routers, Video converters, Opal servers, Modulators, Up/Down Satellite Signal Converters, IDC/Skystream/JIPM Decoders, STRC’s, Satellite dish setup procedures, and basic fiber optic connections.Involved with Program upgrade testing (FAT TRR's/AIC/Confidence/DT/OT) to provide SME comments, courses of action, and assist in resolving root problems within subsystems.

Conducted Basic Operators BFT course for training units at Mojave Viper. Conducted Commander’s Brief for training units inbound to Mojave Viper. Ensured over 300 Blue Force Trackers were operational for both tenant units and training units aboard 29 Palms Marine Base. Stood as a liaison between training units and SPAWAR for parts ordering. Served as a primary point of contact for all units aboard 29 Palms for troubleshooting, parts change out, and updated manuals. Responsible for MT-2011 activation, install, de-install, and tracking. Ensured units aboard 29 Palms have the correct role names. Conducted OJT training for 4 new FSR’s. Attended ESP University. Conducted OPNET and ULM courses for all military units in MNFW. Have shutdown two BFT FSR site and set up another to turn over to the resident maintenance unit. Serviced all tenant units in Iraq and Afghanistan, to include outer FOB’s. Submitted weekly inventory to SPAWAR. Proficient in FSS operations. Shipped parts to SPAWAR for replacement. Served as the lead in Afghanistan and the primary point of contact on the S-6 / G-6 staff for all FBCB2/BFT related issues for Coalition Forces in Afghanistan. Moved USMC Operations Base from Kandahar to Camp Bastion. Provide feedback to the PM for hardware and software system improvements and provide daily and weekly reports to the PM and management. Served as Fielding Coordinator for/ with SEI (Special Equipment Issue), MEB G4, and SPAWAR for each VEH install and upgrade for M1114’s, M1151’s, M1165’s, Cougar’s, Buffalo’s, MAXXPRO DASH, LAV’s and MTVR’s. Used all installs as a training tool for the USMC Communications Technicians. Provided platform or unit refresher training, assistance, familiarization as required, maintenance procedures and training installation and application of the FBCB2/BFT system. Flew out to FOB’s as needed in support of Coalition Forces.

Performed technical diagnostics procedures of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and air systems. Installed GETFO (Get the Forces Off) ladders on MAS (MTVR Armor System) trucks for Mojave Viper. Aid other mechanics with the Maintenance Outreach Program for units at Mojave Viper. Test both hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems. Experienced in the use of specialty tools to include dial indicators, torque wrenches, micrometers, 10 and 20 ton air jacks and large air tools.
