Young, enthusiastic railway engineer looking to progress within the rail industry. Very open to new experiences and thrives in the face of a challenge. Have completed 4 year advanced apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering with GWR. Have worked on a variety of tractions and rolling stock including classes - 08, 57, 143, 150, 153, 158, 16X, 180 and HST. My apprenticeship gave me a very wide variety of the rail industry and with this exposure this broadened my knowledge of how the railway works in general, not just the maintenance side. For example I had the opportunity to undertake an 8 week training course with the Technical Ridding Inspectors travelling around with the HST fleet. This gave me an extensive knowledge of how the singling, track layouts, route knowledge and how on train equipment communicates with the trackside equipment. I am currently employed as a Traction And Rolling Stock Inspector Central) with GWR. My current role as a Traction And Rolling Stock Inspector for GWR Includes In depth fault finding in difficult and pressurised environments whilst trains are in service. Maintaining a large variety for traction and rolling stock across the GWR region. Being the first point of contact for operations to keep things moving on the network.
