The Digital Communications Specialist provides subject matter expertise in digital communications to be deployed in the event of federal disaster declaration. Primary duties include the following: conduct online market research; monitor influential social media users in the affected communities; identify influential social media users and websites in the affected communities and build a database of identified users; establish contact with online counterparts; participates in Headquarters social media conference call; identify opportunities for shared messaging and content; conducts online monitoring; refer hot issues to the appropriate party; respond with approved language to external social media postings; keep a log of all social media responses and hot issues; coordinate with Strategy & Messaging to establish priorities for social media content and dissemination; ensure content development meets Headquarters requirements; format messaging for publishing on FEMA digital channels; ensure that web products are 508 compliant before posting; and update the Joint Field Office website.
