Tom Hatfield has over 30 years of experience as an aerospace, cyber, and communications systems engineer, program management expert, and hiring consultant. He currently serves as a Senior Satellite and Cyber Systems Engineer at the Aerospace Corporation. Over the course of his career he has led large scale initiatives in spacecraft development and operations, cyber development and operations, strategic planning, and talent management. Mr. Hatfield is a former Intelligence Community Deputy Director for Advanced Research, a former Cyber Development Engineering Chief for the federal government and a former Chief Development Engineer for the National Reconnaissance Office. After a very successful federal civilian career, he continues to seek new challenges in aerospace and cyber development sectors. He has worked as a program manager with some of the most respected advanced technology aerospace and defense contractors in the country and has filled top technical and management positions across the intelligence community.Tom is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, majoring in Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing. He also studied at Florida Institute of Technology, where he received a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He earned the highest-level Program Management and Systems Engineering certifications in the federal government. He currently serves as a mentor for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics, is an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association, a consulting partner at DBT Aero, Inc. where he also serves as a Director and Chief Technical Officer, and is a consultant for providing sustainable clean water supply systems for relief efforts in Haiti.
