Tom Abendroth concentrates his legal practice in the fields of estate planning, federal transfer taxation, and estate and trust administration. His practice encompasses all phases of wealth preservation and transmittal, ranging from the preparation of wills and trusts to the implementation of multi-faceted transactions that reorganize business holdings in order to minimize transfer taxes.Tom also advises banks and trust companies on fiduciary law and charitable issues. He has extensive trust and estate litigation experience, representing both beneficiaries and fiduciaries. Tom has practiced at Schiff Hardin since 1984. He currently serves as Practice Group Leader of its Private Clients, Trusts and Estates Group. He has authored and co-authored numerous articles for publications in the private wealth industry, including Trusts & Estates magazine and the American Bankers Association publication, Trusts & Investments. Since 2004, he has been a co-presenter of a monthly telephone briefing series on trusts and estates topics sponsored by the American Bankers Association.Tom has authored and co-authored numerous articles for industry publications, including Trusts & Estates and ABA Trust & Investments.
