Firm Administrator and Controller (and CFO) for a prominent Downtown Cleveland law firm: I was a hands-on manager responsible for the overall financial health and daily operations of a legal services company which consisted primarily of attorneys, paralegals and support staff, with whom I worked intimately and effectively, to guarantee a safe and efficient workplace.As the direct manager of 6-12 in the accounting/administration department, and indirect manager of 25-35 secretaries, paralegals, clerks and interns, together our proven results were based upon hard work, teamwork and communication throughout.My daily duties were more diverse than can be imagined, and just about everything was hands-on: Financial statement preparation and analysis, including forecasts, projections and budgets; Technology management (hardware and software) for the entire network, including off-site workstations and training; Personnel, benefit and retirement plan accounting and management; Maintenance of the compensation formula for shareholders (used effectively to strategically strip all taxable income from the professional services firm through bonuses while simultaneously calculating corporate and individual income tax liabilities); Management of marketing and advertising, including our web site; Maintenance of our banking relationships regarding credit lines and numerous accounts; and, Organized and lead monthly meetings for all levels of personnel.Simultaneous to all of my above day-to-day duties, and for my entire 18-year tenure, I tirelessly ran my own accounting and tax practice for clients of the firm, including "tax season" where I prepared more than 300 income tax returns on an annual basis.And then, on top of these duties, I continuously supported our lawyers with client projects ranging from simple calculations to multi-hour complex litigation support and expert witness testimonies relating to numerous and various court cases.

Started my professional career after college as a staff accountant at S.R. Snodgrass & Co., a regional CPA firm located in Ashtabula, Ohio. In October, 1985 I moved on to Bond, Sippola & DeJoy & Co., a local CPA firm in Willoughby, Ohio, where I was promoted to Senior Accountant. After leaving Steven Business Interiors, Inc. (a client of Bond, Sippola & DeJoy), I then took a position at Barnes, Wendling & Co., a CPA firm in downtown Cleveland, where I stayed until I moved in June, 1994 to the law firm of McCarthy, Lebit.

As Controller for a contract, premium office furniture dealer in Mentor, Ohio, I was responsible for the financial health and personnel affairs of the organization. I was a hands-on manager regarding cash flow reporting and analyses, operations and capital budget management, overhead and cost controls, supply chain administration, forecasting and projections, and strategic planning for the long-term success of the company. Together with a direct support staff of 8-10, we safely and efficiently ran the day-to-day operations of a multi-million dollar company.
