Play a lead role in carrying out the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion for all members of the community. Serve as a liaison between the office and Senior Leadership in the implementation and assessment of the university’s Inclusive Excellence Plan; Chair the University Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee; coordinate university programming such as the IGNITE Future Faculty Development Program and the Annual D&I Symposium; work closely with the university affinity/ERG groups; collaborate with campus partners to deliver programs, trainings and services that foster human connection and a sense of belonging among faculty, staff, and students.

Planned, organized, and directed a comprehensive diversity, equity, and inclusion office comprised of various identity-based groups and cultural centers. Specialized in the development and implementation of programming that combines leadership and social justice frameworks. Provided a variety of services and support programs for all members of the community which helped to create a sense of belonging. Examples of the programs and services include: Diversity Dialogue programs, LGBTQIA+ Programs/Resources, Bystander Invention Training, Women’s Leadership Conference, as well as numerous leadership and training programs. ▪ Developed a diversity and inclusion council to establish an avenue by which community members from varying affinity groups could lend their voice to institutional improvement efforts▪ Created a culture of assessment through the development and implementation of a systematic protocol utilized by all programs and services conducted through the office ▪ Increased collaboration across various units which has led to joint programming and increased participation among various groups at the institution

Lead recruitment efforts to deliver a diverse pool of well-qualified candidates using search methodology grounded in effective and successful inclusive excellence practices. In addition, lead the strategic planning services and help shape and manage DEI initiatives in a variety of institutional/organizational structures. Through the utilization of inclusive excellence methodologies, helped clients operationalize their mission, address structural and systemic inequities within, and provide them with customized resources to sustain and maintain these efforts. Specialized in providing diversity education and customized programming for the needs of various clients including colleges/universities, major academic medical centers, as well as a variety of corporations and non-profit organizations.

Provided advising, advocacy, and support for a broad range of underrepresented groups including, but not limited to those affiliated with Latinx, Indigenous, Asian/Pacific Islander, LGBTQIA, multiracial. Served as Dean of the Sophomore class as well as provided leadership and coordination of all aspects of the Intercultural Center (IC) which included supervision of professional staff and budgetary responsibility for the center.▪ Developed and implemented the institutional transition plan for the new multimillion-dollar Intercultural Center space ▪ Managed ongoing assessment and evaluations which led to enhanced feedback and increased visibility and participation at the Intercultural Center

Supervised the areas of Housing and Residential Life, Career Center, Student Activities, the Student Government Association, Campus Recreation, Diversity and Inclusion, and the Student Union. Supervised budgets comprised of state dollars, grants funds, generated revenue, and student fees of over $18 million. Served as interim Career Center Director. Had oversight of planning and renovation of the Student Union complex. Served as a judicial hearing officer for Office of Campus Civility and Conflict Resolution.

Served on Dean of Students (chief student affairs officer/member of president’s cabinet) senior staff and provided vision and direction regarding diversity for the Bucknell community. Provided support and direction to International Student Services, Multicultural Student Services, the Office of LGBTQ Resources, and the Women’s Resource Center. Charged with identifying ways to incorporate an appreciation of diversity into campus life. Collaborated with academic, administrative, alumni, and community entities to achieve goals.

The Special Assistant position assisted the Vice President for Student Affairs on various diversity issues as well as developed and implemented a comprehensive diversity program to support the many needs of the highly diverse UAB environment. The Director of Student Involvement position was responsible for the management of various student life programs within the Office of Student Involvement. Examples of these programs included: the University Programs Council (UPC), Welcome Week, Leadership Foundations, Civic Engagement, Greek Life, Alcohol and Drug Programs, Student Government, the International Mentors Program, the UAB Lecture Series, Student Diversity Programs and LeaderShape.
