Senior Space Planner
CurrentServes as the Senior Space Planner in the G-53 Theater Plans Division, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCoS), G-5 Plans, Strategy, and Policy Directorate, United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), reporting directly to the G-53 Theater Plans Division Chief. Individual serving in this position interacts directly with the Army Staff, three combatant command staffs, two major subordinate elements (MSE), two operational brigades, and Army space, missile defense, and other forces operationally deployed to nearly two-dozen locations worldwide. Works directly for the G-53 Theater Plans Division Chief and the DCoS, G-5 Director who provide broadguidance and direction regarding tasks, priorities, and objectives. The incumbent leads diverseoperational planning teams (OPT) of varied sizes incorporating internal and external experts andstakeholders to solve complex problems as directed by the Commander or as the mission dictates.The incumbent leads planning teams to answer detailed questions or recommend commandfeedback on Joint Staff, service, and combatant command policies, strategies, and plans. Theincumbent expertly applies the military decision-making process to promote the accomplishment ofUSASMDC’s mission and achievement of the Commander’s priorities and vision. The incumbent alsoprovides subject matter expertise for planning, coordinating, resourcing, and integrating space (Space Control, Space Situational Awareness, and other space capabilities), Missile Warning, andmissile defense (Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD)) into USASMDC, combatant command,service, and Joint strategies, campaign plans, and operations. The incumbent serves as an actionofficer responsible for managing projects as directed by the chain of command.
