DePaul Art Museum is DePaul University’s premiere fine arts museum located directly on the Lincoln Park campus. The collection consists mainly of local, contemporary Chicago artists along with Chicago Imagist artists, Polish posters, European prints, and Latinx American works amongst many other objects. During the summer, I filled the role of Collections Research and Record Management Intern working remotely with the collection. My duties included: writing acquisition memos, research and documenting artist’s demographics, exhibition research and management, observing and participating in staff meetings, and creating social media blog posts on works within the collection.

I was an intern over the Summer assisting the museum in any way requested and learning from the staff. My duties included: cataloging and photographing the collection, installing exhibitions, exhibition research, museum construction work, and general office work (i.e. photocopying, Microsoft excel, Microsoft access, etc.). I was able to learn a great deal as it was my first internship and I developed a positive relationship with the staff.
