Offshore Wind Engineer Ii

London, England, Gb

I served as deputy project manager for bid support on OSW farm development, provided technical solutions as needed for OSW projects, and served as client representative/field engineer/data analyst and manager for OSW geotechnical studies. As Deputy Project Manager, I collaborated with subject matter experts to provide technical and economic analysis of the owner’s bid for OSW farm lease development. These analyses encompassed all project components, including: WTG and foundation supply and installation, submarine electrical cable supply and installation, HDD landfall assessment, ports and harbor upgrade assessment and logistics planning, O&M strategy development, CAPEX/OPEX estimation, and EPC tendering and evaluations. As technical support specialist, I provided technical analysis for a variety of offshore wind and renewable-based deliverables. Of these, I developed a dynamic loading analysis of the export cables for MeRA (the University of Maine’s Floating Research Array), the first at-scale floating offshore wind farm in development in the United States. The loading analysis tool I developed was then used for future work on other projects. I have also supported several geotechnical/geophysical campaigns as both field engineer and data analyst for marine cable routing and foundation installation at the proposed project site for several wind farms along the mid-Atlantic US east coast, becoming proficient with Leapfrog’s Geological suite and gINT for the analysis of AGS formatted borehole data.

Graduate-level research project on modified leading edge hydrofoils, with marine and energy generation applications.Required Skills:Technical Report WritingSOLIDWORKS part rendering.SOLIDWORKS CFD Simulation.MATLAB Data Analysis.Project Abstract:"Inspired by the morphology of humpback whale pectoral fins, literature and research on the effects of leading edge modifications to foils has proliferated in recent years. These numerical and experimental studies repeatedly confirm the advantages of leading edge modified foils over their unmodified counterparts, notwithstanding several competing and overlapping theoretical explanations behind the mechanics of the resulting flow alteration. In this paper, the authors provide a review of fundamental hydrodynamic principles in order to further elucidate the most widely accepted explanations of the mechanism behind the functionality of the tubercles. This theoretical framework is then used to inform the findings of an original SOLIDWORKS (R) Flow Simulation CFD of a modified NACA-0016 foil."
