My involvement in fisheries, science and aquaculture dates back to the late 1970's. I worked for myself as a fishermen and aquaculturist and raised awareness within both state and federal government agencies about conflicts between resource users. I've been employed as a scientist by a university and the state of Maine. I've volunteered my time to nonprofit and state agencies as well as working for both. I also love teaching and held both coaching and teaching positions in high schools and college. I've written several fishery reports and applications for novice aquaculturists to obtain lease sites. My most satisfying accomplishment was finishing my graduate school courses with a 3.4 GPA while working and a single parent.
