Primary technical lead for insert molded leadframe assemblies (IMLAs, a.k.a. wafers, chiclets). Oversee the design, build, and qualification of high, medium, and low volume production molds for a variety of high tolerance assembly components for high-speed back-panel, orthogonal, and mezzanine electrical connector products. Number of cavities ranging from one (1) to sixteen (16). All molds and molded components are qualified via Six Sigma methodologies. Travel domestically and internationally for project transfers and to train manufacturing personnel (U.S., China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore). Edit and update the global procedure for standard IMLA mold design and recommended practice documents. Molds are designed, built, and processed on horizontal and vertical injection, rotary and stationary platen, vertical clamping Nissei molding machines. Use Pro/E Creo 1.0, MoldFlow 2012, AutoCAD 2007. Polymer materials converted: glass and mineral filled LCP’s and carbon filled PA66.

Primary technical leader on pressure vessels. Primary technical leader assigned to PET tubes. Created and/or revised 273 designs using Pro/E and Pro/Wildfire. Products commercialized across five (5) different manufacturing sites on five (5) different conversion platforms.

Oversaw the design, build, and qualification of six (6) production molds for three different high tolerance assembly components for ink jet printer cartridge components. All mold and molded components were qualified via the rigorous Hewlett-Packard “FRQ” process, and the O-I four-corners process window DOE. Wrote 1,500+ lines of object-oriented programming language to automate the creation of stock closure molds drawing on expert knowledge from ten (10) different tooling engineers with more than 100 years combined experience, mapped the thought process to designing molds. Member of the New Employee Support Team (NEST) during this period.

Created a catalog of company-wide injection molding machine platen layouts. Proposed and initiated a program for automated mold design.
