Beginning my career as a lifeguard, I worked my way up to lead instructor. In these trainings, I led a team of instructors, training and maintaining a team of over 300 lifeguards. I transitioned from this role into managing a small swim and tennis club. This position gave me the opportunity to oversee health and safety documentation, pool maintenance and chemical recordings, hiring and training a staff of over 50 lifeguards, inventory, ordering, and creating policies and procedures including the emergency action plan, or EAP. I then obtained my EMT certification. Serving as an EMT, I responded to and mitigated major emergencies in downtown Seattle; regularly working closely with the Coast Guard SAR, Airlift NW, and Harborview Trauma Center.In my many roles of leadership, I have been subject to, and had great marks with, not only Washington State Department of Health, but also the CDC and NIAHO inspections. After these inspections, I was responsible for implementing change and communicating the new needs in a dynamic environment. I have helped Infection Control Officers create and implement schedules, assess testing needs and locations, and worked directly with Senior Doctors to implement health and safety standards. I believe that these experiences have made me uniquely qualified to handle any challenge coming my way. Having been on the front lines as a first responder, as well as working behind the scenes in tandem with health organizations and auditors, I am able to thrive in ever-changing, fast-paced environments.
