Oversaw the development of the MacArthur Agro-ecology Research Center at Buck Island Ranch and the management of Buck Island Ranch.* Coordinated development of research collaboration between University of Florida, South Florida Water Management District and Archbold Biological Station with a focus on developing best management practices for ecologically sustainable beef cattle and citrus production.* Facilitated dialogue between Florida Cattleman’s Association and research results to apply findings into management of private lands in central Florida with a focus on conservation of native species and ecosystems.* Developed new budget and accounting systems for tracking production and sustainability.* Designed and implemented ecological studies on birds in an agricultural landscape.

Built research laboratory focusing on conservation needs of the Everglades and Florida Keys.* Collaborated with The Nature Conservancy and Florida Natural Areas Inventory to facilitate acquisition and protection of remaining forest fragments in the Florida Keys.
