I support and assist Client Operations and other operational Shared Service teams by performing daily maintenance of accounting books and records of assigned regulated investment companies in conformity with the rules, regulations and tax laws that apply. I review and validate all daily fund activity in an accurate and timely manner, and maintain all required controls to ensure overall accuracy. I also ensure prompt follow up on exception situations and facilitate timely problem resolution to mitigate risk and deliver excellent service to clients.

As an IRS certified tax preparer, I was responsible for preparing tax returns for clients within the scope of VITA. I performed audits on the returns prepared by the team to ensure quality control. After each return was reviewed, it had to be prepared for electronic filing using IRS issued automated software. My other daily duties included answering client tax questions and providing guidance and clarification to other team members on correcting rejected returns.

Worked with the Revenue Reporting and Revenue Analysis sections of the CFO's office. While I was there I assisted in the quarterly and yearly closing of the books for the Fiscal Year 2012. Participated in the assembly of the FY 2012 financial statements. Worked specifically as the gatekeeper for the revenue department, as well as helped create the work papers to be used later in an audit. I was also involved in an organization wide analysis of identity theft.
