People are at the center of every great enterprise. Without people, there is no drive to push a company or team to the next level. During my professional career, I've found that the people that comprise a team are just as important, if not almost more so, than the work needing to be done.I've spent time in financial services, where I got to have conversations with people across all demographics. These conversations tended to focus on what was important to the person/people I was talking to: where their priorities fell, what their concerns were, what goals they had, etc. These conversations helped me gain a deeper understanding of how different individuals could have completely different viewpoints on similar issues. One of the great joys of my career has been applying that knowledge while simultaneously continuing to expand on it.Another aspect of my career that I've been happy to build upon is problem solving. One of the points I've focused on extensively over my career is finding the right solution to fit whatever problem has been put in front of me. I've always enjoyed the mental gymnastics that come with working through a problem to arrive at the right ending, and I've had plenty of opportunities to hone those skills as I've progressed through my professional life.So much of what we do centers around people, and I've always enjoyed the opportunity to help those around me in whatever capacity I am able to. Whether it be through work, volunteering, or just being a resource for someone, I've always enjoyed the feeling of knowing that I've helped someone for the better, no matter how small of a gesture that may have been. I am always searching for the next occasion where I am able to lend a hand.
