Thomas Basmer received his M.Sc. in Information and Media Technology from the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus, Germany, in 2007. Afterwards, he joined the Sensornets and Middleware Platform group of the System Design Department of the Institute for High Performance Microelectronics (IHP), Frankfurt (Oder), Germany. He has worked on projects concerning wireless sensor devices, telemedicine devices and security for embedded devices. His research interests are development of integrated circuits and FPGA applications, software development for embedded systems and security. Besides he has presented tutorials and seminars on wireless sensor networks at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. Currently, he is pursuing the PhD degree in the field of side channel resistance of integrated circuits.
