Support and consulting activities in the medical device arena with on:- General Management- Business Development/ M&A- R&D activities- Quality Management- Design and Development- Process Development and Validation- Operations and Manufacturing Development

• General Management and site Leader of the Medtronic Invatec site in Frauenfeld (~200 empl) providing leadership and direction to manufacturing operations for all products, including the management of objectives regarding quality, productivity, cost control and on-time delivery in line with corporate goals.• Meet Operations plan by developing and executing manufacturing strategies, product transfers, Nitinol products insourcing and facility strategies where appropriate.• Achieve Budget targets (mid to high two digit million $ US, both budget and values/ revenue of manufactured products)• Lead and develop manufacturing, processes, technology and automation strategies for new products, drive quality, speed and cost improvement and align with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Lean Principles strategies and other activities.• Partner with Research and Development (R&D), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Marketing, Business Development and Clinical functions to ensure new products meet all necessary requirements.• Ensure compliance to all GMP and Quality Management Systems (QMS) across areas of responsibility.• Partner with HR to recruit, hire, and develop employees and actively promoting talent management/development, employee engagement, coaching and innovation.• Represent the Medtronic Invatec legal entity for all the country mandatory requirements (i.e. EH&S, quality, local authorities, audits, etc.); exclusive legal representative for the site.• Research and Development (R&D) representative for Swiss Research and Development (R&D) group.• Define, hire and manage a new leadership team for the site.• Communicate (internally and externally) and execute site shut-down and closure while meeting product transfer milestones, commercial needs and site closure activities.• Functions on site: Research and Development (R&D), Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing, Human Resources, Finance, Regulator Affairs (RA), Quality Assurance (QA/QC).

• Organizational as well as functional and personnel management of the Research and Development (R&D) department including resource planning and recruitment.• Development of strategies and concepts for new product lines and medical devices.• Lead, provide guidance and support team leaders and project teams throughout the project phases.• Supervision of project plans and progress of projects (medical devices).• Contact and collaborations with physicians in the context of discussions of new ideas and products, at congresses or company visits/ technology exchanges.• Responsibility and competence over Research and Development (R&D) budget.• Research and Development (R&D) representative for Swiss Research and Development (R&D) group in the integration team.

• Organizational as well as functional and personnel management of the Research and Development (R&D) department including resource planning and recruitment.• Development of strategies and concepts for new product lines and medical devices.• Lead, provide guidance and support team leaders and project teams throughout the project phases.• Supervision of project plans and progress of projects (medical devices).• Contact and collaborations with physicians in the context of discussions of new ideas and products, at congresses or company visits/ technology exchanges.• Responsibility and competence over Research and Development (R&D) budget.

• Leadership of cross functional project teams to develop medical devices in the area of cardiovascular devices.• Design and Development of medical devices as Stents (vascular implants, Carotid Stent, SFA stent, Below the knee stent), Stent-Systems and other medical devices for worldwide markets.• Management and coordination of various projects and development of medical devices.• Development of medical devices starting from the idea to final product, including documentation according to design control standards.• Direct cooperation with several departments (Regulatory Affairs (ME), Operations, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing engineering (ME), Finance, Quality Assurance, (QA) etc.) and customers (physicians, healthcare professionals, vascular surgeons, internationalists, radiologists, etc.).

• Design and Development of medical devices (e.g. balloon catheters, stent delivery systems) for worldwide markets as part of a development team.• Documentation of development in accordance to design control standards.• Development of medical devices including transfer to production.• Collaboration with different departments (Regulatory Affairs (RA), Operations, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing engineering (ME), Finance, Quality Assurance, (QA) etc.).• Member of „Innovation Center“- group focusing on early development and prototyping of medical devices.

• Design and Development of medical devices (e.g. balloon catheters, stent delivery systems) for worldwide markets as part of a development team.• Documentation of development in accordance to design control standards.• Development of medical devices including transfer to production.• Collaboration with different departments (Regulatory Affairs (RA), Operations, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing engineering (ME), Finance, Quality Assurance, (QA) etc.).• Member of „Innovation Center“- group focusing on early development and prototyping of medical devices.
