The main focus of my role was researching new and existing LED mirrors to find the most desirable products on the market. Having strong connections with suppliers in the far east to produce new and innovative products that could be sold in the UK bathroom industry. Constant monitoring of stock to make sure all demand was met on time and in full.Production issues would be solved through careful quality inspections and a plan would be implemented to reduce any future problems from occurring. Careful liaison between the office and warehouse ensure a smooth flow of stock between colleagues and customers.

Working in a strong team, clients would send us briefs giving us guidance to engineer solutions to their packaging dilemmas. Keeping the structure of the design as well as creating a pleasing unpacking experience for their customers. Samples would be produced and checked off by the client. If it ticked all the right criteria the design would be laid up to offer the most cost effective was for manufacture by reducing waste and making sure the packaging would run smoothly though each machine. Final quality checks would be made before the end product would be sent.

My role consisted of creating visually engaging packaging displaying relative information in an quick and easy way. I would use existing images and them to stock scenes giving them a realistic take on where the product would be found to produce contents to be shared on social media and the website.

Working at Howdens Joinery Co gave me a great insight into the design industry. My role in the kitchen department was design development which involved a wide range of skills that I learnt at university. Having to research certain trends to develop a particular range that had the potential to go to market. I also designed the components of current and new ranges to solve problems that the builder may encounter when building a Howdens kitchen for a customer. I also had access to rapid prototyping (3D printer) allowing me to the expand my knowledge practically in that area. Learning the advantages and disadvantages of 3D printing prototypes. Working closely with joiners to improve products is something I did frequently. Receiving feedback about a product and creating a report to correct the disadvantages that the end user may encounter.
