This facility was engaged in the rotary peeling of hardwood logs into sheets of flat veneer. The veneer sheets then proceed through various processes, drying, matching, gluing, and pressing throughout the facility with the ultimate outcome of producing a 5-layer thick, 48" square engineered hardwood panel. There the panels are processed into multiple width EGD (Engineered) Hardwood flooring available for both residential and commercial applications covering over 900 retail SKU's. Duties included, but not limited to dealing with human resource issues, logistics, safety, maintenance, procurement, cost reductions, creation of CAR (Capital Acquisition Requests), strategic planning and continuous improvement utilizing Kaizen, 5 Why and Gemba Walk techniques.
