My role within the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is to create and distribute content that promotes the Government of the Northwest Territories' brand, activities, programs and products. I also act as a department liaison between the government, the public, and the media to ensure that the brand remains top of mind.

Outcrop Communications is the North’s largest full-service agency specializing in corporate communications, marketing, graphic design and digital services. As Account Manager, I am the principle contact between Outcrop and the individual client. I manage all aspects of the delivery of services and work to build a lasting business relationship between the agency and client.

With nearly 100,000 employees, AHS is Alberta's largest employeer. Within Workplace Health and Safety I aided in the challenging task of bringing awareness to the hazards involved while working in the offices, operating rooms, ambulances, ect. I supported the Business Performance team to clearly communicate with all 100,000 employees on the hazards of working within health care and how they can minimize those hazards. This requires building training, awareness and engagement tools while maintaining constant two-way communication with audiences.

I worked directly with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and the department Graphic Designer to further develop and implement the department-wide marketing and communication plans. I was responsible for a number of varied projects which included planning, development, research, and implementation. These projects directly impacted the marketing and communication strategies of the Recreation department.

Working at the Customer Service Centre, I was responsible for Interacting with customers and to provide and process information in response to their inquiries, concerns and requests about products and services Recreation offers. As Shift Lead I was also responsible for communicating and coordinating with internal departments on their programs and courses and to offer on the job training and direct support to the Customer Service Assistants.

Although this was mainly seasonal work, I was given the responsibility to lead crews of 10 - 12 people and build self-sustainable commercial landscapes in and around Calgary.

I had the opportunity to learn about oil-field work first hand on a drilling rig. This taught me the fundamentals of Alberta's main export, oil and gas.
