Before starting the firm of BERMAN & ASSOCIATES in 1991 Thomas Berman had managed and consulted with law firms, corporate law departments, accountancy firms and the Legal Services Corporation for twenty three years. BERMAN & ASSOCIATES was begun and continues to this day as an independent consulting firm working in conjunction law firm, brokers and insurance underwriters throughout the United States, Canada, Eastern Europe and the United Kingdom with professional liability risk issues. Affiliates of the firm are located in Michigan, Atlanta, New York and Illinois.For the last twenty years the firm has worked with over 1600 law firms throughout the world. These have included firms of every kind; from a single lawyer to over three hundred lawyers; from Intellectual Property law firms to Malpractice Defence and Plaintiffs Personal Injury law firms. It’s estimated that BERMAN & ASSOCIATES has accomplished over four times more of such assignments than any other consulting firm in the United States. The firm is hired directly by law firms, through independent brokers and/or insurance underwriters. Over the course of that time, approximately four hundred fifty of these assignments have been with plaintiffs firms, two hundred and fifty with corporate and defence and over seventy with intellectual property firms. Mr Berman is on the editorial Board of Managing Partner Magazine and writes a monthly column.
