- Objective: Synthesis of SiCN thin films with interesting properties for photovoltaic or optoelectronic applications.- Means: Films are deposited by PECVD in a Ar/N2/H2/HMDSN plasma. Substrate temperature can be controlled up to 600°C during the process by a substrate heater. Thin films are then analysed by SEM, TEM, FTIR and photoluminescence.- Results: Amorphous SiCN Thin films deposited in Ar/H2/HMDSN plasma presented embedded nanostructures which have been identifed as 2H-SiC by XRD characterisation. It was shown that varying the substrate temperature during the process from 350° to 600°C modified the SiC nanoparticles dimension from 4 to 8 nm, and increased the crystallisation rate of SiC in the film. - Prospects: Annealing experiments are performed to analyse their influence on SiC nanoparticles quantity and dimension. Moreover, a new substrate heater ranging over 1000°C is under conception to widen the temperature range for the experiments.
