Multiple watch patterns (12-4, then 8-12 watchkeeping). First contract I was Assistant Safety Officer in charge of all FFE Equipment & Appliances onboard, ensuring all checks were carried out efficiently & correctly, in accordance to our company SMS, by myself and my team. Making reports of what was checked. If corrective measures needed, I designated to the correct department & ensured they were followed up. My emergency duty for my first contract was Junior Watchkeeper & in charge of Rescue Boat. During Wet Dock, I was the Logistics Officer, in charge of all movements on/off the vessel, maintaining at all times the health & safety of those involved in my operations. During my second contract, for my overtime duties I was in charge of all LSA (Life Saving Appliances) & FFE Equipment & Appliances. I completed a project along with the Safety Officer to set the ship up to be more AMOS focused & less reliant on paper based checklists. Assisted & performed touch drills for all Deck Officers during weekly meetings. Emergency duty I was in charge of all Port Side Boat Deck & Port Side Liferaft Stations.

Completed many various jobs, including decking, landscaping, construction & carpentary. Ensured compliance with health & safety at all times & learned how to correctly use various power tools safely & efficiently.

4-8 watch. Carried out the majority of arrivals and departures into various ports within the Caribbean. Emergency role was port side coordinator of the Lifeboats, Liferafts and MES. During overtime duties I was in charge of all Deck Routine Inspection. Responsible for carrying out checks of all deck equipment such as LSA. Covered the role of Public Health Officer onboard. Assigning teams within each department to carry out sanitation checks of the vessel. Assisting Staff Captain with the implementation of Certification and Security procedures. MLC (working hours) for all of the Deck Department.

Experience on all watch patterns, developing my skills in each of the respective demands from that watch. Overtime duties included maintenance of LSA equipment under the Safety Officer. Arrivals and Departures. Assisting Chief Officer with Tank Inspection, which helped develop managerial skills and gave me an understanding for the attention to detail required for tasks. Assisting Chief Officer for Fire Risk Inspection. Assisting 2nd Officer for Navigational Planning & updating publications.

I was part of the Horton RNLI Lifeboat crew where I volunteered and took part in the various sea training and exercises which includes helicopter training exercises and rescuing of various sea vessels and their crew. During my time in the RNLI I was able to learn general boat skills and complex rescue procedures whilst dealing with the general public, rescue services and coastguard agency.
