In 2014 I completed my bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering with a concentration in Power, Safety, and Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My course work consisted of the core classes surrounding nuclear engineering including but not limited to reactor theory and design, radiation safety, detection, and protection, waste management, and plasma physics. In addition I have taken intermediate-high level coursework in the fields of heat transfer and fluid dynamics. During my time in school I balanced the education in the classroom with involvement in various engineering projects beginning my freshman year. Beginning in 2010, I became involved in a research project to determine the behavior of parasitic nematodes in a zero gravity environment. The motivation behind this experiment was to provide an alternative for pest control for space-base agriculture. The experiment, designed by our senior biologist, required a mechanical apparatus that conformed to NASA specifications. My role was to design this apparatus given a budget of $3,500 while conforming to NASA constraints regarding containment and stress loads induced in flight. The apparatus was successfully flown in July 2011.From 2014 onwards I have held the title of RF Manufacturing Engineer at Richardson Electronics. For the past 4 years I have developed both theoretical and applied knowledge pertaining to medium and high power microwave RF products as well as transitioning into a role of technical oversight of thes companies legacy electron tubes and vacuum devices. From 2016 to present I served as a key member during the acquisition and relocation of select productlines of the Covimag company from France to Illinois, in particular the manufacturing of industrial magnetrons.
