I develop processes, collect and analyze data, set up and run measurement equipment, provide quality assurance, and create and optimize procedures for production.

I measured and inspected different fabrication stages of thermoelectric power generators and written procedures for thermoelectric generator fabrication. I also collected, formatted, and analyzed data in order to determine process capability, design or update production procedures, and assure quality.I also did some CAD design work for the R&D lab, and performed a Gage R&R on lab equipment and operators.

Collected, organized, and analyzed data from both in-house tested hip implants and patient hip explants. I worked on a identification and classification system for wear and corrosion levels experienced by metal-on-metal hip implant parts that incorporated surface roughness measurements, stitched images, and ANSYS fretting simulations. I also worked on designing 3D-printed 2 cm cubes with different lattice structures and porosities that would mimic the macroscale properties of bone. I compared ANSYS compression simulations to actual mechanical compression tests. I also scanned the cubes using Micro CT in order to see if the 3D printed cubes retained the same volume and geometry of their digital counterparts in SolidWorks.

Researching, designing, and testing triboelectric, polymer-based energy-harvesting device for athletic shoes. The device uses both the piezoelectric and triboelectric effects to capture wasted kinetic energy from running, walking, or jumping and convert that energy into useful electricity.

I worked with Carbon Nanotube Yarn artificial muscles and tested their actuation abilities under thermal and electrochemical stimuli. I also researched active polymer textile pattern's responses to thermal stimulation with two other research assistants. My team and I presented our research to a group of material research scientists.
