I believe in the power of music-making and the positive impact that one can have in the lives of others with one’s gifts. I focus daily on my philosophy of "pressing on toward the high calling" whether it’s in my educational position of teacher (teaching through my students' many intelligences) , in the home (husband and father of four), the arts (choral conductor and American Choral Directors Association board member), or my volunteer activities (Music Director for the Pontiac-Waterford Barbershop Chorus). Success is a striving for excellence and focusing on the impact that one can have in the lives of others. As a servant leader, I’m devoted to bringing out the best in others so that they, too can experience success individually and collectively. and in turn leave a lasting legacy of teaching excellence in music and performance.I have had the opportunity to develop high-performing ensembles from middle school on up to college/ community ensembles. Throughout my tenure, many school ensembles have achieved awards at district/state levels and my writings on the subject of choral music education have appeared in publications of the ACDA and the MSVMA.I have been described by many as a master-teacher/ conductor – a characteristic that I try to live up to each time I that have the opportunity to interact with students, colleagues or other choral professionals.Experienced Music Teacher with a demonstrated history of successful primary/secondary choral music education. Skilled in Choral Conducting, Curriculum Development and Music Education.
