I've served the automotive industry for a lifetime, starting when I was 16 becoming aquatinted with the mechanics and engineering of automobiles on the driveway of my parent's house. I've personally witnessed the transformation of this industry from the inside out over 40+ years, from "points and condenser" ignition systems, to the most sophisticated collection of networked computers, from "carburetors with manual chokes" to EV powertrains with regenerative braking. The first half of my journey focused on providing diagnostic and repair services to customer's individual vehicles. I used that experience with some additional computer programming training to launch the second half of my journey where my drive for quality and positive results was applied to deliver solutions for 1000's of customers though improvement of diagnostic systems and software for an OEM. My success in support of vehicle diagnostic equipment enabled me to further extend my career into vehicle quality engineering, with strong emphasis on rapid resolution to customer concerns in the areas of Infotainment, connected services, ADAS systems, vehicle configuration and Passive Entry/Starting systems. I have an 18+ year track record of working closely with engineering and suppliers for a luxury automotive brand, working as a creative problem solver with attention to detail. I understand modern "lean" and "agile" business process models and the importance of sustainable solutions. Knowledge sharing and mentorship is second nature for me, be it working as a shop foreman, mentorship as Chubb Institute Honors Student, or supporting my colleagues on various levels epitomizing the cliche, "give a man a fish" vs "teaching one to fish". I've developed effective skills for fact gathering and data analysis, including competitor benchmarking, end user surveys or workshops and working with modern analysis tools like Tableau, and Google Big Query. As a creative problem solver, I've developed several proof-of-concept software and analysis solutions to support the progression of production systems. My skills for remote data collection and technical support are unparalleled. I've been using Cisco's WebEx technology since 2008 to manage diagnostic tool related issues with complete working knowledge of Unified Diagnostic Services, adding skills for remote access to vehicle embedded systems in 2016 including UNIX platforms, and DLT logging. In 2016 I also developed a successful pilot using Microsoft HoloLens and Skype for remote technical support.
