Responsibilities included operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the A/N SPS 64 V(9) radar system; aligning submarine radio room equipment with the proper frequencies and patches to receive critical satellite downlinks through the BRA (34) antenna utilizing SSIXS, OTCIXS, and EHF SATCOM as well as transmitting critical/encrypted data over these circuits; supervising daily operations of the base’s Communication Center; maintaining open HF circuits for over fifty tenant commands; supporting sea-going vessels with secure data/voice checks utilizing various cryptographic equipment and STU III Secure Voice/Data Transfer System; downloading highly classified information through various Microsoft systems including LAN networking; generating daily and weekly work and COMM plans; extensive troubleshooting of all mentioned circuits as well as various receivers, transmitters, amplifiers, antennas, and computer equipment by effectively reading tech manuals and detailed schematic diagrams.
