While studying as a full time MBA student at Babson's FW Olin School Graduate of Business I held two internships with Steward focused on system and hospital operations. From June through August of 2014 I worked for the health system facilitating the evaluation of a lab consolidation project aimed at optimizing the efficiency of lab operations across the 10 hospital system. The consolidation delivered 10 million dollars of annual operating expense savings by lowering labor requirements, renegotiating vendor contracts and reducing waste.At the conclusion of this project I transitioned to a hospital based role which spanned September 2014 through May 2015. In this position I delivered a system for managing labor efficiency across the hospital by developing a dashboard which measured productivity against departmental volumes and the budgeted staffing targets.
