INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT - ENGINEER 1C03 (Engineering Design & Graphics)Worked directly with both Dr. Thomas Doyle, Director of the McMaster eHealth Graduate Program and Dr.Colin McDonald, the Director of Engineering 1 to deliver ENGINEER 1C03 - Engineering Design and Graphics. My role as an Instructional Assistant is to apply both technical and practical skills in the delivery of ENGINEER 1C03. Specifically, this entails: 1) teaching both labs and tutorial lessons, 2) serving a leadership role through supervision of a large team of undergraduate teaching assistants, and 3)acting as a mentor and role model for first-year students by helping to bridge their successful transition from high school to university. Duties and Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the course instructor to determine weekly lessons to be delivered• Instruct first-year students through weekly tutorials and labs (including the use of Autodesk Inventor)• Guide students through both structured and open-ended problems, specifically providing EPIC Lab support in the operation of 3D printers• Lead a large team of teaching assistants by scheduling regular meetings, providing regular training on the use of Autodesk Inventor, assigning tasks, and coordinating grading duties• Coordinate assignment-related and project-related tasks, including test invigilation, organization students into groups and scheduling interviews and presentations• Facilitate the organization of the online course management system's course content, which includesdistribution of course materials and inputting of online grades• Stay current with new technologies and materials that pertain to the course and, where appropriate,suggest how they can be implemented towards continuously improving the course moving forward• Maintain confidentiality of information
