Design Engineering Consultant - Development AssessmentIn this role Tom was responsible for assessing the impacts of development proposals on Council’s infrastructure and represented Council in development matters involving water and wastewater issues. Design Engineering ConsultantRole included planning, design, project management services in connection with a range of projects managed by Townsville Water Operations Various Projects undertaken for Townsville Water Operations between June 2013 and December 2013.Detailed design for Serene Valley water supply reticulation upgrading, Townsville; Appointed as a specialist consultant providing advice to internal water operations staff and development assessment staff on various works involving complex water and wastewater engineering issues. Review and development of Design and Contract Implementation Procedural Checklists for Townsville Water;Repairs and maintenance to Hamilton’s Tank, Castle Hill, including planning for redundant water supply scheme whilst tank is offline and replacement of high pressure water line; Upgrading of and repairs to Nelly Bay Reservoir including design and documentation for pipework replacement and project management services for replacement of roof;Design and documentation for pipework modifications to Bolger Bay Pump Station and balance tank site to facilitate implementation of mobile pump to the site.Design, Documentation, tender management and tender assessment report for TCC Reservoir Cleaning contract for Townsville Water operations;Design, documentation and project management services for upgrading of Cungulla high level water tower for Townsville Water;Condition assessment of 600 MS University Drive water main including condition investigation into its cathodic protection system;Detailed condition assessment and report for 6 kilometers of the Mt Spec Pipeline and design and documentation of rehabilitation works to protective coating system;Project management services for the water hammer modeling and investigation report into the Douglas WTP discharge mains to COT reservoirs and determination of the cause of failure due to transient conditions on the pipeline.

Asset Engineer, North QueenslandRole included planning, design, project management and operational services in connection with assets managed by TRILITY on behalf of the Townsville City CouncilThe assets which are managed by TRILITY include the Douglas WTP, Northern WTP, and 1.5MW Haughton Pump Station, DN900 Haughton pipeline, 2.4 MW Ross Dam Booster Pump Station and DN1200 Ross Dam pipeline. Achievements included managing projects with an approximate project value in excess of $20 million and include planning, design, project management services, asset management and operational support
