As CFO (reporting to the President/CEO), responsibility included all aspects of financial reporting, cash management, bank negotiations, legal and company-wide process improvements. Select Accomplishments:• Championed the development and implementation of a Balanced Scorecard, business performance reporting tool, to increase accountability and evaluate monthly results against key success measures encompassing financial, marketing, sales, customer service, and learning and growth metrics.• Increased employee satisfaction regarding compensation by assisting in the development , roll-out and on-going monitoring of all company variable compensation plans including plans related to Delivery, Sales, Recruiting and Senior Management. Also, chaired the 401(K) Investment Committee and led significant upgrades to the Plan’s investment portfolio while reducing fees and increasing participation.• Positioned company for growth by implementing numerous processes and upgrading vendors to allow for growth, reduced fees and less risk. Effective changes included due diligence process for potential acquisitions, procurement process, multi-state tax policies, insurance, banking, technology solutions, audit and tax services, payroll processes, and budgeting and re-forecasting processes.• Implemented cost reduction steps during times of slow growth; utilized detailed budgeting tools to identify future periods of low revenue and worked with owner to reduce both Cost of Sales and Selling, General and Administrative expenses.• Reduced company legal risk by reviewing all general service agreements, statements of work, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, and other legal contracts. Implemented terms that were beneficial to the company while maintaining positive client and vendor relationships.

Audit Partner (2000 – 2006) Responsible for corporate audits for a wide range of companies with revenues ranging from under $10 million to more than $1 billion. Industries served included software, technology consulting, technology equipment manufacturing, and retail. Held day-to-day operating responsibility for all audit services provided to clients, including audit, SOX attestation, and special projects. Highlights/ Accomplishments: • Served as primary KPMG contact with clients’ Chief Financial Officer, Audit Committee and other financial officers and served as signing audit partner for numerous legal entity audits, including engagements with audit teams throughout the U.S. and various international locations (engagement team size varied from two to more than 20).• Managed all technical accounting and SOX research consultations (includes obtaining clearance with the SEC, when applicable).• Oversaw all aspects of engagement economics including fee negotiation, billing and profitability - total annual engagement fees were in excess of $2.5 million.• As Quality Assurance partner, ensured adequacy of all ERISA audit services delivered to clientele.• Prepared proposals for new audit work, including detailed estimate of hours and fees.• Served as performance partner to six KPMG individuals, providing constructive feedback to improve job performance and counseling partner / mentor to individuals within KPMG to assist them with their career within or outside of KPMG.
