Designed the first worldwide production deployments of specialized Telco-grade virtualized / private cloud offering for low latency Policy Control and Charging (PCC) applications. This was implemented for a large tier one telecom operator in the US. The deployment involved rolling out over 500 hypervisors in 11 data centers which was designed to support PCC applications for over 100M subscribers.This design gave rise to a number of new sharding and scaling concepts which are currently patent pending.* The Logical Scalable Unit (LSU) which is a patent pending concept which allows operators to grow their solution incrementally, based on growth of the number of subscribers or the load on their network* LSUs leverages templates and VM cloning to grow the solution automatically using the virtualization / cloud APIs* Using the LSU model, a single Openet Policy Manager deployment has reached over 1 million (and growing) Transactions Per Second (TPS) in a virtualized environment.* Independent Key Routing and Data Locality Tables which are both patent pending concepts improves the locality of subscriber data to the its corresponding processing application node.* This new design allows for a new data-centric, rather than a function-centric, operating model which significantly improves the overall performance of the system.

As part of the Core Technology group I perform the following main functions:• Interfacing with Customers, Sales, Alliances and partner companies on requirements and implementing these requirements in prototypes or proof of concept (POCs) exercises.• Leading research, development and implementation activities on Openet’s full product range.• Developing solutions which are scalable (in terms of network size and volume of calls), high performing (in terms of call processing latency and throughput), interoperable (withother vendor hardware) and highly available (fault tolerant, redundancy and failover).• Providing solution and architecture consulting across multiple customers and projects.• Presentation of POCs at client meetings as well as trade shows and conferences.

The research involved developing a software platform for Cloud computing called SmartCloudSolve. SmartCloudSolve (SCS) is a Cloud computing platform that will allow "non-experts" to easily develop applications for Clouds. This means that application programmers can concentrate on application development as opposed to focusing on how it will be executed on the underlying Cloud infrastructure.The following are some of the features of SmartCloudSolve.• Applications implemented to run on a single machine/desktop can easily be converted torun on Cloud infrastructures using the SCS platform.• Supports a number of languages C, Fortran, Matlab, and Octave C.• To convert an application to run on the SCS platform, the application programmer changes their application so that it implements a new simple API called the SmartGridRPC API.• SCS applications will be "Cloud neutral" and will be portable across a number of public Clouds as well as private Clouds.• SCS applications are not locked in to any one infrastructure.• The SCS middleware manages the deployment of that application on the infrastructure.• The SCS platform scales up and down the Cloud infrastructure according to the needs of the SCS application
