I am responsible for reports and documentation from pre-construction thru close-out. I was assigned responsibility to build the new Substation for the Facebook (Meta) Data Center project. I worked closely with the utility company who was building their 230kV substation to provide us the power needed for our datacenter. We worked in parallel as I was tasked with all of the below grade foundations, vaults and underground duct bank for the Facebook substation. This job posed many challenges such as equipment delays, grounding issues due inadequate vendor response, and weather delays. I successfully completed all of my responsibilities but due to the equipment delays I was then reassigned to oversee the data hall, gen yard and electrical rooms. In 2009, I completed training and courses to receive my NCCER Plus certification for industrial carpentry. Soon after, I was granted a foreman position in the civil department for the new railroad construction phase. I was responsible for the task of excavating and removing 31,000 cu yards, placing sub-grade and 7,000 yards of sub-ballast along with all the associated retaining walls, placing of 2,500 lf of various culverts, drainage piping, and swales associated with our project’s railroad extension. There were numerous underground obstructions and relocations required and all were managed without safety incident. We have prepared the site for over 9,000 feet of new track passing through the existing operating areas. This work has been performed in an extremely well coordinated and efficient manner with high quality and well executed safety processes.
