Provided critical leadership and direction for a highly accomplished team of subject matter experts in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Employee Health Services, Environmental Health & Safety, and Risk Management and Insurance. Actively contribute to academic success, the research enterprise and health system’s mission through collaborative partnerships across the three pillars of the institution. Specific achievements of the team have been:• As co-chair of the Public Health Response Team during the pandemic, planned and implemented a health and safety program by bringing together a group of subject matter experts from across VCU and VCU Health. In addition to establishing and running all COVID testing sites and contact tracing, developed a formal protocol to advise and assist the executive leaders of the institution. • Lead an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program to identify strategic, financial, operational, and compliance risks that affect the University’s ability to meet its strategic objectives. Additionally, work to define tolerance levels for enterprise risks and develop appropriate controls to reduce the likelihood and/or consequence.• Provide premier service to the University, VCU Health System, and a $400+ million research enterprise. We accomplished this through the extraordinary efforts of 53 staff members and a budget of $6.2 million;• Established a health and wellness clinic on the Monroe Park Campus; contracted with a virtual mental health and wellness service for our community; and implemented annual health and wellness screenings for all faculty and staff.• In 2023, the Environmental Health and Safety team swept the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) innovation awards, including for the development of safety videos for under-represented minorities engaged in research.
