In this role I worked to develop projects relating to automation and additive manufacturing in an industrial environment. The goal of these projects was to develop in-house projects to address cost of poor quality (COPQ) in wind turbine blade manufacturing. My work with projects starting with initial idea sketches and I carried the projects through the testing and validation phase.I performed full-scope work across my projects with duties involving:- CAD and part design- Preparing drawings for manufacture- Preparing BOM’s, and receiving quotes- Sensor selection and electrical system design- PLC and HMI programming with a focus on automation- Device mechanical and electrical assembly- Design analysis and optimization- Testing and validation- Troubleshooting mechanical, software, and electrical issuesI operated many tools for the purpose of rapid prototyping including waterjets and 3d printers. These included Markforged, Dremel, and Bigrep additive manufacturing centersI worked to fulfill many design for X criteria including DFA, DFM, DFAM, ect…I also supported testing and validation for products from external vendors.

- Led and taught lessons to both small groups and individual students in all grade levels - Aided teachers to complete administrative work and identify individual needs of students- Provided support to students with significant language barriers
