Vice-President and Treasurer of the Oxford Charlemagne Institute, a student-run think tank researching various aspects of the European Union, with a particular focus on its foreign policy. Involved in shaping the development and direction of the Institute from its foundation, including being part of the team that designed the website and logo. Part of the editorial team, and wrote the editorial guidelines for our publications. Highlight of my time was writing the European Parliament Reform section of our report about EU enlargement and its impact on the union’s institutions, and briefing our team in advance of our attendance at the European Space Conference

As Co-Chair of the Oxford Blue, a student newspaper at the University of Oxford dedicated to providing access to journalism for those who haven’t had any experience before, I was in charge of the legal and financial management of the paper, selecting the Senior Leadership Team, and driving the long-term strategic direction of the newspaper including establishing a unique and thriving section covering motorsport, a very popular area among our readership

I was the Editor-in-Chief for The Oxford Blue for Trinity Term 2023, leading the editorial side of the paper. During this time we launched a new Environment Section, developed a new media strategy using Instagram to attract new writers, and encouraged the development of better training for our editors and writers in editorial practices, use of images, and quality of writing.

I was Senior Opinions Editor for two terms, during which time I expanded the coverage of the section to include more varied pieces about sport, culture, and more satirical writing. I also introduced a series of ‘debate’ articles, co-written by two authors taking different stances on an issue.

I was the Senior Global Affairs Editor for Trinity Term 2022. While in this position I continued and developed the newly-formed “World Beyond Ox1” column, which was a round-up of the less-coveraged stories of world news that week, encouraged more longer-form analysis pieces, and wrote widely on issues like the return of the Pink Tide in Latin America and the French Presidential election.

Part of the Central Asia and Eastern Europe desk with the responsibility for Central Asia. Responsible for writing a summary of the main developments (political, economic and otherwise) from Central Asia every two weeks and providing analysis.

As Treasurer of the Entertainment “Entz” Committee, I was in charge of managing a significant budget for the year, planning our finances and making sure each event had sufficient funding. I was also instrumental in event organisation, managing and running an average of 2-3 events a week for an academic year, including large-scale drinks events and a small music festival. Helped co-ordinate between the student body and college staff to help the events run.
