This fixed-term role is to support the Director of Business Intelligence and wider Business Intelligence Team by accelerating the current phase of project work, focused on Account Master Data clean-up. High-level responsibilities of this role include: - Reviewing data quality in Seequent’s source systems, primarily Salesforce - Writing SQL queries in Databricks to identify data errors - Work through identified issues with applicable teams (primarily Information Systems and Sales teams), agreeing on data contract rules and helping to rectify data discrepancies identified - Working with Business Intelligence Team to identify issues in the Master Data Management layer

The company had recently been acquired by Bentley Systems, and I was brought in as added bandwidth in the Finance team, initially with month and year end requirements. However, with the companies rapidly changing environment I was moved into project work around the acquisition and migration of systems. This included customer re-contracting, entity rationalisation, migration of accounting systems and integration of our CRM system into their accounting system. I was the project lead on the customer re-contracting process which involved changing the contracting legal entity from Seequent to Bentley entities and aligning our CRM system. I worked closely with Bentley Tax and Information System (IS) teams to establish the entity selection rules and subsequent tax requirements before communicating to our own IS and legal teams as well as the executive management. I created and executed several working documents that I used to help coordinate and coach a large global sales team through the significant change.

I was hired to complete tasks within the entities “100 day” plan. Specifically the acquisition accounting required, building the consolidated management reporting, and building the reports for the historic and ongoing data capture required by the private equity firm. I was then responsible for completing monthly processes including but not limited to, month end reconciliations, consolidated management reporting, commission calculations, and additional monthly data reporting. I was also responsible for annual cashflow and balance sheet forecasting, coordinating the year-end external audit and building the deferred revenue model for their subscription based revenue inline with UK GAAP.

I was responsible for the end to end accounting process for their smaller entity, Managed Networks, including but not limited to; cash flow forecasting, coordinating the external audit, client profitability analysis, month end processes, and monthly management accounts. Additionally, I was involved in the due diligence process for the parent entity IPI, specifically in relation to the significant deferred revenue and costs balances.

I performed the more complex components of the audit, coached junior staff and made conclusions on the overall position of the audit evidence. Additionally, I completed a variety of work beyond the scope of assurance, including the preparation of financial statements in line with PBE IPSAS standards and completing several due diligence reports.
