I have worked professionally within the IT sector for a little over 11 years, experiencing various market sectors and environments. During this time I have been exposed to numerous technical disciplines, including several development languages and business methodologies. By starting my IT career in the support field, I've been able to develop and utilise a logical and analytical approach to introduce new solutions into existing business processes and applications, leading to a more efficient and manageable call volumes within a support environment and increased confidence in IT deliverables and processes. By analysing hardware asset utilisation I’ve also been able to ensure that the cost-of-ownership is kept within a proportionate level to the solution it provides.This analytical and logical approach to problem solving has allowed me to gain understanding of problems quickly, while gathering requirements from the business and developing solutions from proof-of-concept to production applications, with accompanying documentation and training material.More recently I am involved in the implementation of a new ERP system, developing and performing all aspects of Data Migration from the legacy Prologic Cims ERP to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3. This has allowed me to not only learn a great deal on the ETL processes involved, but to develop peripheral solutions to ensure the migration is reliable, repeatable and accurate, meeting the senior business team members requirements gathered early in the Project Lifecycle.
