Managed a deployable team consisting of 20 operatives. Reporting directly to the Project Manager to report operational success. The project aim is to assess the spread of Covid 19 in a controlled environment in conjunction with Public Health England and Southampton University.

Team lead and manager for a small team in a recruitment role for the Royal Air Force. SME for multiple roles a potential recruit could undertake within the service of their country. The focus would be on candidate testing and interviewing to assess the individual's suitability and facilitate a “go-no go” stage. The recruitment process would work in stages which resembles a Prince2 process. At each juncture, to authorise movement through the stages, management would assess the situation and, based on my judgement, grant the candidate acceptable to the next stage of the recruitment process.

Whilst stationed in this role, I was responsible for the delivery of multiple projects across varied environments and timescales. Projects often overlapped, and requirements would reprioritise projects in accordance with operational necessity. One such project was the conceptualisation, procurement of resources and delivery of a radio signals outpost, which could be delivered anywhere in the world at short notice. All within organisational standards and procedures, utilising multiple agencies across the defence network. This plan is still in use today and, as such, still delivering a high readiness capability to the UK’s defence long after its creation.

A manager on an extremely high readiness operational unit. Responsible for the instruction of specialist lifesaving tactics and equipment. One role specialisation was that of the Counter Improvised Explosive Device Instructor and Commander. The successful implementation of these practices that I taught to the members of my team had a lifesaving effect. As a result, we suffered no casualties or losses in a hostile environment. A secondary duty in which I volunteered for, was the role of trauma risk manager. This role would be in support of my team members mental health in the event of a catastrophic event. As a councillor, manager and confidant at a time of need.

Throughout my time at this appointment, I progressed through multiple roles of responsibility and displayed attributes of leadership at a junior stage in my career. As such on multiple occasions, in absence of my commander, I would be responsible for the administration and command of the 8-man team. Whilst on operations in Iraq I had the responsibility to administrate the team and ensure that sufficient supplies, food and water were available throughout our occupation of certain key locations on the base.
