Secondment from the Met Office in the UK to the Australian Bureau of Meteorology to develop and lead a new Business Development Unit. Responsible for leading the development and implementation of a business development strategy, growing the opportunity pipeline and ultimately delivering revenue growth.

Led the development and implementation of the Met Office's international business strategy. This ensured that the organisation was focussed and joined up in its international scientific, capacity development, international relations and business activities to deliver the greatest possible benefit to partners, customers and the Met Office.

In this role I was responsible for managing the Met Office's relationships with: UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK Government Department for International Development, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).

One year secondment from the Met Office to the World Meteorological Organization. Working within the Resource Mobilization Office on the development and delivery of capacity development projects to support National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in developing countries.

In this role I was responsible for managing a commercial business programme at the Met Office. This involved managing a team to develop new products and consultancy offerings, win new business and ensure its successful delivery.

In my first role at the Met Office I investigated and developed methods for improving surface and upper air weather observations. Projects involved instrument trials and analysis of data from a range of automatic and manual observing systems.

Worked for the Zambia Ministry of Education as a Physics Teacher in a rural secondary school through the development charity Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). Developed and managed projects including an HIV/AIDS awareness programme for pupils, rehabilitation of school facilities and regional teacher training workshops.
