Manhattan South is created and written by Thomas M. Cassidy, a best-selling author and a former senior investigator for the New York State Attorney General's Office. Manhattan South, an action-packed police series that provides a behind-the- scenes glance at how homicides were solved in the gritty landscape of the 1980's New York, is ready for production. Tom is the author of: "Elder Care/What to Look For/What to Look Out For!" (New Horizon Press), "How To Choose Retirement Housing," an Economic Education Bulletin published by the American Institute for Economic Research, and co-editor and contributor of a college textbook, "Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Aging" (Springer Publishing Company). He was employed as a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University, where he shared his expertise on elder abuse, fraud and other age-related issues at public forums, as well as academic and professional education programs. Tom has discussed elder care on NBC, CNN, FOX and PBS television, as well as hundreds of radio stations. His articles have appeared in The Washington Post, Newsday, San Francisco Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Philadelphia Enquirer, and Personal Financial Planning. He gives numerous lectures and seminars on elder care and health fraud issues to a wide range of audiences. He served as a speaker and facilitator at a United Nations international conference, "E-Technology Challenges and Opportunities: Empowering a Graying Society."
