• Cross-train, manage and advise new outsource team on existing systems and business applications. Serve as a liaison between IT, the various business departments and Cap Gemini to ease the transition and overcome any obstacles. Continue with all job responsibilities listed below in addition to expanded responsibilities to cover gaps left from former employees. Proactively trouble-shoot legacy application problems as well as work on new IT Projects that impact Claims/Administrative/Plan & Rate systems. • Assist in mentoring & managing both onsite resources and an offshore team. • Update, maintain & trouble shoot a VB based application with Enterprise SAS programs that processes monthly Rate Increases & Group Health Insurance Policy Renewals.

• Work on new projects supporting the Sapiens Product Manager application in various capacities. Work on many Medical Insurance Product related projects. This is in addition to all previous duties listed below as a SAS Programmer.

• Assist in the Product Manager Monthly Implementation Cycle by manipulating rate manuals from Access spreadsheets and by running SAS programs to generate and update all new and repriced plans. Run audits to verify the accuracy of PM, the Crosswalk and any related GMS support tables. Research, locate and correct any problems reported or found while auditing. Create and run any ad hoc reports needed using SAS and SQL. (Claims, group information, administration, plan information, state information, anything involving the legacy, mainframe applications: BEST, GMS, PIMS or PM).• Maintain, update and back-up various VSAM files with Health Insurance Plan information. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with data on tape or on disk.

• Support all business areas and regions with regard to mainframe access issues and mainframe application Production problems. Log calls and work with applicable programmers if necessary to resolve issues. Update, maintain and correct/troubleshoot BEST network tables and claims support tables. Assist in all claims system modifications and updates by testing and by troubleshooting all problems reported. Assist in major system modifications and new implementations by testing and troubleshooting. (Projects: PIMS, Evolution/Claims, Product Manager/Rates, Employee Level Selection/PM and GMS).

• Process and price all Florida PPO claims according to the various contracts and Medicare rates applicable.

• Audit all JAHM (Florida John Alden Health) claims and repricing examiners monthly and calculate comprehensive accuracy reports for all Miami Claims personnel. Assist the training and development team in identifying trends and problem areas in claims examiner accuracy. Assist the claims repricing examiners with all contract related questions and system problems. Distribute and organize all John Alden PPO contracts and repricing updates to the repricing claims examiners.

• Examine life and health claims, properly calculate and initiate payment on claims; compose and dictate denial letters on claims not eligible for payment based on contract provisions. Process over 140 claims daily.

• Assist in the monthly renewal process of Intermediate sized groups. Generate new business quotes for each case being renewed by entering census data and current plan information into the quote system. Enter new business quotes onto Quattro Pro spreadsheets to calculate rates. Prepare and mail renewal letters, questionnaires and rate action sheets to agents, groups and sales personnel. Prepare and mail benefit plan change proposals to agents and groups. Run rollovers for existing groups upon request from agents, North Star Marketing representatives and from group. Fax and mail out finalized rollover rates. Assist North Star Marketing in any way required. Check current rates and plan changes for accuracy on a legacy Mainframe system (GMS).
