Worked three years in the area of Utilities, which included Plant Electrical Power Distribution, Boilers, HVAC, and Waste Treatment. Projects included:• Installation of five 1000 kva transformers, 15 KV switchgear, and a 600 KW diesel generator. • Engineered and oversaw construction of 984 Modicon Programmable Logic Controllers on each of the two boilers. • Engineered projects to replace 12 PCB transformers and upgrade the overall electrical distribution in the areas where these transformers were located. Work included a conceptual design study and a short circuit study for the future electrical distribution projects, which I performed as part of a Thesis for my Masters Degree. All specifications, funding appropriations, requisitions, construction packages, and field supervision were part of my responsibilities. • Coordinated and supervised the annual scheduled maintenance program for all electrical power distribution equipment (480 Volt through 15 KV).• Job requirements of the utility area were such that I had to be the PCS, Facility, and Process Engineer for all Utilities and plant HVAC systems.I also had responsibility for the Miles Research Park Facility located in Stanley, Kansas. Projects at this site included:• Upgrades to the electrical power distribution per a 15 year long term plan• New automated greenhouse for plant studies• New waste treatment facility• Implementation and supervision of the annual scheduled maintenance program for all electrical power distribution equipment.Worked three years in the area of Formulation and Packaging. Projects included:• Installation and design of electrical and instrumentation systems for a new completely automated bag and box packaging line using; Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers, Robert Bosch DC Servo drive motors and bag fillers, General Motors Robotics for case stacking, Edelmann box machine, and Beemis case packer.

Responsible for the design, appropriation of funds, ordering of materials, installment and start-up of electrical systems required for process and non-process expansions, or other additions at the plant. Provided technical assistance to the process units, electrical maintenance department, and the project engineering group. Responsible for giving power approvals for projects with low voltage (480 VAC) and medium voltage (5000 VAC) switchgear along with writing the specifications for this equipment. Assisted in start-up of projects at the plant by providing field construction packages to field personnel. Helped to engineer and supervise installation of a 69 KV breaker and a half scheme project along with a Westinghouse Coordination, Load Flow, and Short Circuit Study.
