I am a Maintenance Engineer performing maintenance procedure review and generation for naval support and supply vessels. I am a Navy veteran with 9 years of experience in the nuclear propulsion field which has consisted of 3 years of nuclear maintenance planning4 years of submarine nuclear propulsion plant operator and nuclear machinist technician/supervisor2 years of naval nuclear propulsion trainingThe naval nuclear propulsion training consisted of mathematics, thermodynamics, physics, reactor plant principles, electrical theory, and mechanical theory with practical application at a training naval nuclear propulsion plant to include plant startups, shutdowns, transient operations, and casualty response. Onboard the submarine I supervised and trained 10 multi-functional maintenance technicians, while orchestrating mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance operations. Operated and performed maintenance on mechanical systems to include desalination, propulsion systems, lube oil, boiler systems, radiological systems and HVAC. Planned, executed and supervised overhaul, retest and start-up/ shutdown periods to include setting and verifying initial conditions, system lineups, verifying component and equipment startups. In my final three years I served as a fleet maintenance activity Lead Nuclear Planner in which I trained and led a diverse team of electrical and mechanical nuclear planners in the production of nuclear and nuclear support work packages which were the culmination of schematic analysis, multi-organizational requirements interpretations, job site inspections, communication with technicians and engineers, and strict adherence to quality assurance standards.
