I participated in a voluntary leadership capacity organizing the community around my church to focus on further building the community. This has been done in partnership through Action in Montgomery. Action In Montgomery (AIM) is a non-partisan alliance of 30 congregations and neighborhood organizations in Montgomery County representing over 30,000 adults. AIM’s primary goal is to develop local leadership to organize the people power to create a more just county. We strive to hold both public and private power holders responsible for their public responsibilities, as well as initiate actions of our own to solve community and economic problems. AIM began in 1998 when clergy and lay leaders came together to discuss how to address the growing pressures on families in their congregations.

I am a Founding Member of the Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA). AAAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission includes developing and fostering professional relationships among minority professionals working in the financial services industry. We provide forums for industry-related education, an effective network, and strive continuously to remain on the “cutting edge” of the financial advisory industry in order to assist members to competitively provide financial and business consulting services. Further, the Association endeavors to provide education, assistance and guidance to families that seek to participate and prosper in an economically progressive society.
